Another variation on the Jerusalem gate. The client wanted a daytime version.

this one is great, its lit amazing. its kind of when the sun is in your face and you put up your hand to block it out.. this is how i would see it if that happened to me in this scene.. i wonder if that makes sense.. xD

Cheers! Thanks! Yes, on this one I needed it to be day time but I wanted to obscure alot of detail work, so I added alot of atmosphere, which can be very pretty but also decrease work. Strategic lighting! :)

I have a few questions:
1. Are you using a reference for this series?
2. Do you do research before you do these drawings?
3. Why do you have so little time to complete it?

I love the whole series!

Thanks! Here's answers to your questions....
Yes, I always try to find reference to help with design. It helps alot. I do quick research on certain things like what Babylon looked like 3000 years ago and such. I do not stick too close to accurate details though since this is a quick project and impressions are all that's needed. I have 3 weeks to complete 28 paintings (client's needs)... on top of my already busy full time work schedule, so that's why I have to do them so fast.
