This is a for a prerendered isometric online game. The image on the left shows my initial loose concept design (removed per client request... sorry), and the image on the right shows my final 3D modeled, shaded and lit set (created in Autodesk Maya 8.5, rendered with MentalRay). For this project my good friend Brett has been helping me with the 3D modeling so I could focus on the concept designs and on the final shading/lighting. Check out Brett's excellent work for this location here... Shanghai

I think the detailing of the garden with the building, and the top of the garden wall are amazing examples of why this whole series is so extraordinary. Also, the direction of the lighting works great with the isometric view in all of them. If I was going to change anything I would make the light slightly less pink in some of the city views. Overall, these are some of the most delightful pieces of CGI I've ever seen.

Wow, really? Thank you! That's a high compliment. As for the pink... this game is aimed at girls and was supposed to have somewhat feminine color themes.

Out of all the landscapes, this one is my favorite. It's very beautiful and the details are amazing.

Can't wait to see the game! :D

I am so intrigued by these. I keep coming back :) I'd love to see a wire frame for on of these...but I guess my main question is about the geometry: Is is mostly simple corners, or are do they have little rounds on them to make the lighting just that much more interesting.
I love these so much.

Awesome! I'm so glad you like them. No hard edges allowed. Everything is modeled with true rounded corners to let the light do it's magic properly. :)
