So I've finally decided to ditch digital for a bit with these lighting studies. This is the first oil painting I've done in many many years. It's not totally happy with the results, but it's a first good stab back into real paints. I plan to expand myself this year artistically and this is one step in the process. This took about an hour
really good for an hour man, and i prefer traditional mediums myself. i think they are undervalued in todays society. I entered a contest for the hobbit, with a traditional piece, and most of the winners were digital pieces. I think it shows a lot more skill when the artist is working with traditional styles that cannot be erased or changed like the layers of a digital art piece
Traditional is my favorite, feels so much more fluid to me. Yet, I have never worked on a really good tablet, so I don't know if that is just a technical disliking of a lower grade product hahaha
