So soft and warm. I love the way the colours just seem to blend together, like they share a common element of some sort. Is this what is referred to as "complementary colours"? My colour theory isn't so comprehensive!
Oh! Thanks Jeremy! Always a great teacher! I guess I haven't been paying attention in colour theory class! So, what do you call colours that are near each other in the colour wheel? Like red and orange? Or, like in this painting where the teapot and background have similar warm colours?
(I really have to go back and do some studying!! )
I guess I would just call them similar colors, ha! But you could say this image stays in the warm palette. The interesting thing here is that even the most "cool" color that might appear like it has blue in it, actually is not blue at all but rather a subdued less saturated warm color, but it appears cool in contrast to the very warm color next to it.
Haha! Similar colours! I guess the simplest solution is often the best!
I remember from your tutorial, that the temperature of any colour is relative to those near it. I really need to start thinking in terms of the effect of colours and not their individual names! I need to see that tutorial again!
Thank you always for being so patient and generous with your time and knowledge!
